A broad topic, but Tom and I together investigated different types of prayer, using our hand to structure a prayer by using each finger as a prompt. We used hand cut outs to make prayer leaves to put on a tree (with hope that answered prayers will benefit from a paper flower on the leaf. We sang about learning to pray, we listened to Taizé chanting to help focus our thoughts, the children read bible verses on prayer and we sang a prayer as well as sharing together a modern version of the Lord's prayer using accessible language.
My first attempt at preparing my own power point presentation (giving Su a well earned rest from my many emails about what I wanted in them instead!!)Lots of technical bits and bobs to perfect, but hey you don't come to Vision for a sleek state of the art service do you? We're all about getting together, getting involved, learning together as we support each other on our journeys of faith...
A broad subject indeed and I know we couldn't possibly encompass it all in a session, but hopefully we highlighted it's importance in our everyday Christian life and gave food for thought... and prayer...
Our amazing and indescribable Father in Heaven, we thank you for guiding us in the path we are following for Vision, we thank you for your gift of the Holy Spirit that is alive and felt in our meetings. We continue to pray that the message of your eternal love and forgiveness will bless the people of Billinghay and that more may come to know you through our daily living of our Christian lives, help us make the right choices day by day that we may reflect your glory in all that we do.
